Hot off the Press

134 (Bedford) Squadron Air Cadets has unveiled its latest tool, which will bring Squadron news to even more people . The squadron has added a free RSS news feed, accessible via the squadron's award winning website www.134.org.uk

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is an up and coming technology which allows people to easily choose what news they want to see from a wide range of news providers. This will mean that whenever we publish a new story on our website, it will automatically appear on our subscribers computers, without them having to constantly visit our website to look for new stories. Best of all, this service is available to anyone completely free of charge.

RSS technology, is already used by industry leaders including the BBC, The Daily Telegraph, The Times and the Guardian. As well as local news providers the Times and Citizen.

It is believed that 134 (Bedford) Squadron is the first Air Cadet squadron in the country to provide a RSS news feed. This development demonstrates the squadrons commitment to stay ahead.

Chris Wiggins, who provides technical support to the squadrons website said "In this media rich world, we are pleased to be using technology such as this, to help us stand out from the crowd. It is hoped that our squadron news will now reach an even wider audience."
