Runaway Success

Eighteen cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron took part in the Annual Inter-Squadron Athletics Tournament at Bedford Stadium. Successes included four Gold Medals, thirteen Silver and one Bronze.

This culminated in gaining second place in the Junior Boys Competition, joint First Place in the Senior Boys Competition and winning the Overall Boys Competition Trophy. The cadets represented the Squadron in a number of disciplines including both track and field events where the medal haul was successful in 100m, 4x100m Relay, 1500m, Shot Put, Javelin, Discus and Long Jump.

Cadet Barton (13) commented, "I won the first Gold for the team in the 1500m event and am so pleased with my achievement. I'll be competing next year to retain this position and hopefully set a new Wing record."
