Water Walkers

Nine cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron took part in one lap of the cycle track at Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire. This was to practice for the upcoming Cadet Spitfire Medal March in Folkestone at the end of the month, where these cadets will be tackling a 16 mile route. The Royal Air Force Road Marching Association Song Book was used to the full to help the marchers cover the practice course. The training distance of nine miles was completed at an average of 3.5 miles per hour. Cadets who have previously attended the March at Folkestone have the option to take part in a demanding 25 mile route.

The Squadron will fully deploy to the training area near Folkestone and engage in local visits to Lydd and Hythe prior to the March day. Flt Lt Murad, Officer Commanding said "We had the weather on-side and produced a good pace. I remain confident that the teams tackling both the 16 and 25 mile routes at Folkestone will succeed and wear their medals with great pride during the evening dinner".
