Arms Drill, By Numbers - "One"

Following the successful completion of his Arms Drill Instructors Course at the Air Cadet Adult Training Facility at RAF Cranwell, Sergeant James Tye has been appointed as a Qualified Arms Drill Instructor.

Sergeant Tye was recommended for a place on this prestigious course by the Central & Eastern Region’s Warrant Officer, Mark Butler, resulting from his hard work and dedication to drill and his success in training winning drill teams at Sector, Wing, Region and Corps levels.

The course is aimed at providing Air Cadet Adult NCOs with the necessary skills to teach members of the Air Cadet Organisation in Rifle and Sword drill to a high standard.

Sergeant Tye is the only Arms Drill Instructor in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing and hopes to use his new qualification very soon in running training weekends for Cadets and Adult members of staff.

Sergeant James Tye said, “The course was very enjoyable and one of the best and most rewarding courses I have done to date. I’m excited at the prospect of putting my new skills into practise."
