Eight cadets from 134 Squadron attended a shoot at the Defence Intelligence Security Centre (DISC) Chicksands in Bedfordshire. The aim was to improve marksmanship skills at both 25m and 50m distances using the L98A2 Cadet General Purpose Rifle. In keeping with the Air Training Corps Marksman Award requirements, the disciplines practiced were Grouping, Snap, Rapid and Deliberate. Excellent weapon handling was demonstrated by all qualified firers and for two new cadets, the day proved an excellent taster of what's expected once qualified. Thanks go to Sgt Tye for organising the shoot and Mr Das from 2465 (Icknield) Squadron for assisting with staff qualifications.
Cadet Williams said, "This was a really good day with great weather. I managed to improve over the course of the day and I hope to return next time and gain a marksman award".
