A recent run of success on the rugby pitch has paid dividends for three determined and talented Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron who have collect three prestigious awards.
Sergeant Luke Denham (16 yrs) recently played for the Air Training Corps at a national level at Royal Air Force Cosford, and has been awarded a coveted, and rare, Corps Blue for his efforts.
To achieve this level of success Sergeant Denham initially played for the Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Wing, then the Central & East Region, where he captained both teams before being selected for the Corps Team.
Cadets Will Cohen (14 yrs) and Caleb Masih (14 yrs) have gained their very first Wing Blues, playing for the Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Wing Junior Rugby Team at the inter Wing Rugby competition held at Royal Air Force Cranwell.
In addition to their Wing Blues, Cadets Cohen and Masih also picked up a Gold Medal each as the Wing won the overall competition.
Flt Lt Khalid Murad, Officer Commanding 134 (Bedford) Squadron said, “These three cadets have excelled on the sports field and thoroughly deserve their Blues. Once again our Squadron has supported not only our Wing, but the Air Training Corps in two important rugby matches. Historically a good number of our cadets have excelled on the rugby field and I hope this tradition continues well into the future.”
