134 (Bedford) Squadron |
Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron are celebrating a decade of success having won, for the 10th year in a row, the Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Youth Boys Cross Country Trophy.
This highly impressive achievement was gained when the unit participated in the Wing Cross Country Competition held at Hinchingbrook School, Huntingdon.
Cadets from the Squadron entered the Junior Boys, Youth Boys and Senior Boys competitions which saw the Junior Boys team, consisting of Cadets Tom Smith (13 yrs), Lewis Holley-Livingstone (14 yrs) and George Livingstone (13 yrs) securing 3rd place overall and gaining 3 Bronze Medals.
The Youth Team, consisting of Cadets Harry Beddoe (16 yrs), Levi Jack (14 yrs), Connor Lennox (16 yrs) and Nathan Turpin (15 yrs) raced home in first place securing the trophy for the tenth year in a row together with 4 Gold Medals.
In the Senior Boys Competition FS Bell (17 Yrs) secured a credible sixth place against some very stiff opposition.
Participating for the first time in the Girls Competition was Cadet Lauren Fletcher (14 yrs).
Cadet Smith said, “I was really surprised to win a medal and am very pleased with how well my team and I did.”
Flt Lt Khalid Murad, Officer Commanding 134 (Bedford) Squadron said, “I am very pleased with these results, maintaining the Youth Boys Trophy for a decade is a tremendous achievement and demonstrates the resolve and commitment of our cadets.”
