134 (Bedford) Squadron |
Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron were seeing the stars last week when they visited Bedford School’s Planetarium and Observatory.
Starting at the impressive, hand-built planetarium, the cadets watched the progression of the stars through the seasons, highlighting some of the key constellations and other sight such as the International Space Station, galaxies, and planets which are visible from earth.
The visit and tour which was keenly led by Linton Guise from Bedford School.
After a fascinating presentation in the planetarium the cadets were taken to see the recently upgraded telescope in the observatory where they were they gathered around screens close ups of planets and stars.
After the visit cadet Marti Foy said “It was a fantastic visit and I especially enjoyed the planetarium. It is great to have a better understanding of the stars.”
