Having met the staff team and discussed the importance of volunteers in society the Squadron’s Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Mark Robinson showed Mr Burt the plans for the new Cadet Centre soon to be built close to the existing premises.

To round off the evening Mr Burt spent time talking to the Cadets about a range of political issues in a lively question and answer session.

At the conclusion of the visit Mr Burt said, "I am very impressed by what I’ve seen, not only is this a successful squadron in terms of its reputation in the Central & East Region, but the atmosphere of friendship and commitment is immediately apparent to a visitor. I think the public should appreciate just how much we owe to those adults who work with these youngsters and help them mature into the sort of people who will make a tremendous difference to society."

He continued to say "The range of activities available is considerable and I would encourage any youngster to join but also to particularly encourage any adult to think about volunteering to support such able young people.”
