Recognising the importance of attracting new recruits, Warrant Officer Taylor from 134 (Bedford) Squadron gave a detailed presentation on the Air Cadet Organisation to over 455 school pupils aged 9 – 13 years during a recent school assembly.
This year the Squadron has launched a pro-active recruiting campaign, part of which is a series of school assemblies supported by recruiting stands at high profile public events in and around Bedford.
Harrowden Middle School, Oak Road, Bedford, was visited on Friday 22nd February 2008 by Warrant Officer Taylor, who was invited by the school to deliver a presentation on the Air Cadets and the benefits of belonging to the organisation.
Following a presentation on the Squadron, which included the unit’s recruiting film, the pupils were given the chance to partake in a question and answer session.
Warrant Officer Taylor said following the presentation, “I would like to thank the Head Teacher Ms Murphy for allowing me to present to the whole school. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to do so and was impressed by the number and quality of the questions asked.”
The Squadron will return to the school in support of its Summer Fayre on Saturday 28th June 2008.
