134 (Bedford) Squadron |
Three Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron have represented the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing in Football and Hockey competitions at Royal Air Force Cranwell, Lincolnshire.
On Sunday 17th February 2008, Sergeant Sean Denham, 16 yrs, Corporal Daniele Malandra, 16 yrs, and Cadet Leah Gilbert, 16 yrs, travelled to RAF Cranwell to take part in the Inter Wing Open Football and Hockey competitions.
For Cpl Malandra it was his first Wing Competition and for taking part he gained a ‘Wing Blue Award’. For sports veterans Sgt Denham and Cdt Gilbert it was yet another opportunity to represent the Wing on the sports field and gain points for the coveted Wing Best Male and Female sports cadet of the year awards for 2008.
Cdt Gilbert was successfully selected to go forward into the Central and East Regional Hockey Team where she will represent the Wing at a higher level of competition.
Flt Lt Mark Robinson, Officer Commanding Bedford Squadron said, “These individuals are to be congratulated yet again for their sporting achievements. The Squadron has a proven track record in supporting the Wing in a range of sports and long may it continue.”
