Following several hours of arduous football and rugby trials, five Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron were selected to represent the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing.

Held at RAF Brampton on Sunday 6th January 2008, the trials were held to assess cadets from the 30 Squadrons in the Wing in Junior Rugby and Open Football.

Six Air Cadets from Bedford Squadron led by Sgt James Tye, 19 yrs, (Team Manager) competed in the trials, ahead of the Inter-Wing Championships on 17th February 2008.

Selected for the Junior Rugby Team were; Cdt Ashley Arzu, 14 yrs, Cdt Thomas Powell, 15yrs, and Cadet Jake Riches, 15 yrs. For the Open Football category the Cadets selected for the team were; Sgt Sean Denham, 16yrs, and Cpl Daniele Malandra, 17 yrs.

For cadets Cpl Malandra and Cadet Arzu, their selection will see them gain their first coveted Wing Blues, which are awarded when cadets represent the Wing at a sporting event.
