One of the most important dates on our calendar each year is Remembrance Parade. This year was no different with 20 cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron taking part in Bedford’s annual parade down the Embankment.
After a short sermon given by Rev Nigel Morrell, Bedford Mayor, Frank Branston gave a speech before laying a wreath. Wreaths from all the attending groups and organisations followed, with Cadet Nicholas Every was given the important role of laying the wreath on behalf of the staff and cadets of 134 (Bedford) Squadron.
The parade then moved further up the embankment where Mayor Frank Branston took the salute, before the parade was dismissed in St Paul's Square.
After the parade, a small contingent of 134 (Bedford) Squadron cadets went to Cardington village cemetery to place poppies on the War Graves, a tradition that the squadron has repeated for the past 10 years.
Flt Lt Mark Robinson said of the parade: “We consider it vitally important that our cadets pay their respects and remember the fallen. With loses both historically and more recently, it is just as relevant today to remember those that gave their lives for us.”
