Where There’s Muck There’s Money

With alloy wheels gleaming and paintwork washed to perfection Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron cleaned up in style by raising £280 during the first of their winter carwash events.

The activity was held at the Squadron’s Headquarters building at Shortstown, Bedford, on Saturday 13th October 2007, and was supported by approximately 60 customers.

Whilst the Squadron has raised sufficient funds to order its new 15-seater minibus, the Cadets are working to raise the additional funds required to sign write the vehicle and pay for the insurance.

Squadron Warrant Officer Taylor said, “What an excellent start to our winter fund raising programme.  The weather was great, the Cadets were enthusiastic and the customers kept on coming.  Car washing is a proven success and keeps our public profile high within the community.”

The Squadron will open its doors again to the public on Saturday 17th November 2007, between 9am and 4.30pm for its second of three planned car wash events.
