Silver Splash

Following months of training Sergeant Sean Denham, 16 years, found himself competing against some of the very best swimmers in the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing of the Air Cadets when he entered the water to compete in the Senior Boys Freestyle swimming competition.

Sean was representing 134 (Bedford) Squadron in the annual Wing Swimming Competition held at the Peterborough Regional Pool on Saturday 8th September 2007. The event, attended by cadets from all over Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, saw various Squadrons competing against each other in a number of swimming disciplines.

Sean gained a thoroughly deserved silver medal in the competition and will now go on to represent the Wing at the Central and Eastern Regional Competition at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire, on Sunday 30th September 2007.

Flt Lt Mark Robinson, Sean’s Commanding Officer said, “Through hard work and effort Sean has successfully achieved a silver medal and we are all very proud of him. We all hope that he will do equally as well at the regional competition later this month.”
