All Buffed Up

Polish on, polish off was the order of the day when industrious Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron set up a shoeshine stand in the centre of Bedford Town Centre.

Continuing their efforts to raise funds for the unit's minibus fund the cadets set up a two seat shoeshine stand and for £2 a pair the public were invited to have their shoes cleaned by the professionals.

The stand was well attended and running alongside the Squadron's recruiting stand acted as an interest grabber prompting the public to take an interest in the Air Cadets.

At the end of what was a busy and, at times, wet day the squadron added another £100 to its growing minibus fund, which now totals £19,500.

Warrant Officer Taylor said, “When raising funds for a large scale project it's important to maximise every funding opportunity and we have achieved that aim with this activity. The shoeshine has raised £100 and generated a lot of interest in an alternative side of cadet life”.
