Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s our very own aircraft recognition champion Warrant Officer Taylor. In a surprise announcement WO Taylor was declared the winner of the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Aircraft Recognition Competition (Staff Entry) held at Royal Air Force Wyton, Cambridgeshire, on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2007.

During the competition WO Taylor was shown 25 aircraft pictures and was required to name each aircraft type. The aircraft were both military and civilian types and ranged from all over the world.

A keen aviation enthusiast from an early age WO Taylor put his years of experience and knowledge to the test and has been duly recognised for his spotting skills.

A surprised and slightly bemused Warrant Officer Taylor said, “I really enjoyed the opportunity to take part in the competition and although I thought I had done well I never expected to win”.
