More than 25 Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron, joined cadets from five other local squadrons in Huntingdon Town Centre on Sunday 4th February for the annual ATC Sunday parade. The parade marks the anniversary of the Air Training Corps which was formed on 5th February 1941.
Cadets from Bedford joined with around 60 cadets from Biggleswade, Cranfield, Huntingdon, St Neots and Sandy Squadrons. The cadets formed up and marched to Huntingdon All Saints Church where a service was held.
Following the service, the cadets marched up Huntingdon High Street, where Squadron Leader Tim Brain took the salute.
The parade was concluded with refreshments arranged by Huntingdon squadron civilian committee. This allowed all the cadets and staff from the attending squadrons to meet each other.
Cdt April Hobden, 14, who joined Bedford squadron in August, said of the parade. "This was my first ATC Sunday parade, So I was not sure what to expect. I felt very proud to march in uniform with my squadron. I also enjoyed meeting cadets from other squadrons."
Bedford's Commanding Officer Flt Lt Mark Robinson added. "As I have come to expect, the uniform and drill of our cadets was impeccable. I am proud of every single cadet. Thanks are due to 73 (Huntingdon) Squadron for both hosting the parade and organising the refreshment."
