134 (Bedford) Squadron |
Staff and cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron Air Cadets attended a conference held at RAF Henlow to improve their press releases and media handling techniques.
Using these new skills, the cadets and staff will make use of them to improve press releases that they will produce for future events. The conference featured presentation on how to write press releases and what should included, for example the 5 W’s- Who, What, Where, When, Why. Also included in the conference was a presentation on press photography by Flt Lt Philip Jones.

Other presentations included how to handle the ‘media crisis management’ and the aim of public relations, which were both presented by wing media communications officer (WMCO), Flt Lt Margaret Bell.
Flt Lt Bell commented “Bedford Squadron are already very good at handling the media, but it is nice to see them here making a valuable contribution”.
Cpl Peter Clough who attended the conference said “I have taken on board a lot of skills which I am really looking forward to putting in to practice in the near future”.
