Water, Water Everywhere

It was cold, dark and frosty when 9 members of 134 (Bedford) Sqn met early on Sunday 10th of December. Their job for the day was helping at the Wootton Half Marathon, they were to assist marshals with car parking and at water points around the race.

After a short briefing and collection of kit, it was off to Wootton Upper School which was the race HQ for the day. At 7:30 they met the car parking marshal at the designated field. They parked roughly 1000 cars in the space of one hour.

Next they moved to the first water station where half the team stayed with the CO, the other half move onto the second water station with Sgt Every. Both teams filled cups and handed then out to the 1200 runners as they passed.

Once all the runners had passed water station one the first team cleared the cups and continued onto the fourth and final water station where they carried out the same task. Once the tasks had been completed both teams were collected and taken back to the race HQ were they received free refreshments for their hard work.
