134 (Bedford) Squadron |
On Sunday 8th October Cadets Cook, Soroko and Gilbert travelled to RAF Cranwell to represent Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing at junior girls hockey. The 1st match played was against South & East Midlands Wing, the girls showed good team work, working together to come away with a 1-0 win to Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire Wing.
After the match they came together to discuss further tactics which proved a success as they won the next match with the score of 2-0. The 3rd match played was brilliant, the score was 5-0 to Beds & Cambs Wing. The girls then carried on to win the rest of there matches with a tough game between Herts & Bucks wing but managed to sneak 1 goal in making it 1-0 to Beds and Cambs.
After all of their matches they were undefeated, securing them the trophy for the 2nd year running. This was not the only good news of the day, on final parade before the results were given it was announced that the whole of Beds & Cambs junior hockey team had been invited to take part in the regional hockey trials next month. So not only did the girls come away with the trophy they are all also going to regional trials.
Altogether a brilliant day.
