Buckets of Gold

Good weather provided the perfect conditions for the second charity car wash held by 134 (Bedford) Squadron in their on going efforts to raise funds for a new minibus.

As soon as the gates to the car wash opened at 9:30 on Saturday 7th October 2006, a steady flow of customers made use of the service being provided by the Squadron. At the close of play at 16:30 approximately 50 cars had been washed netting £250 towards the minibus fund that now stands at £7,050.

The aim of the exercise was simple; to provide excellent service, promote the Air Cadets to the public and raise much needed funds.

Unlike run of the mill car wash operations customers waiting for their cars to be cleaned were treated to complimentary drinks and home made cakes and biscuits courtesy of the squadron Civilian Committee.

Adult Warrant Officer Taylor said, “Once again we have had a successful day raising funds towards the purchase of a new minibus. It was good to see that many of our previous customers are coming back to support us in our efforts.”

The third car was event will be held at the Squadrons Headquarters, on the A600, Shortstown, Bedford on Saturday 18th November 2006.
