Cleaned to Perfection

Armed with sponges and buckets of car shampoo, Cadets and Staff from 134 (Bedford) Squadron threw themselves into the start of their winter charity car wash events.

Held at the Squadron Headquarters building in Shortstown, Bedfordshire, the event was well attended with approximately 45 cars being washed between 09:30 and 16:00.

Working in teams under the supervision of the Squadron NCO’s the Cadets washed, cleaned and hovered customers vehicles to an extremely high standard raising just over £200 for the units minibus fund.

Squadron Warrant Officer Taylor said, “As we are located next to the busy A600 road we are lucky in that we pick up a great deal of passing trade and many of our customers supported last years car washing events. The benefits of this activity are significant. We raise funds for our minibus appeal, we advertise the Air cadets to the wider community and our cadets experience practical teamwork.”

On Saturday 7th October 2006, between 09:30 and 16:00 the squadron throws open its gates again for the second of a planned five winter car washing events.
