With over 100,000 people in attendance Luton held it’s largest annual international carnival on Monday 29th March 2006.
Music and costumes from across the globe were on display and were seen in procession around the streets of Luton. In addition there were over 50 different clubs; groups, bands and entertainers who took part in the town's annual carnival recognised as one of the largest in the country.
The Royal Air Force was well represented at the event with members of the Armed Forces Careers Office at Cambridge staffing a recruiting stand in Wardown Park.
134 Bedford Squadron were asked to attend the event and Corporals Ryan Bubbins and James Tye were on hand to support their RAF colleagues in presenting the Royal Air Force to the public.
Both Corporals wish to pursue careers in the Royal Air Force and used the opportunity to learn as much as they can about the application and selection process.
Corporal Tye said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the day working alongside the RAF and feeling part of the careers team. Despite the rain showers we were extremely busy and I really enjoyed promoting the RAF to the public.”
134 Bedford Squadron have fostered an excellent working relationship with the RAF careers office in Cambridge who have sponsored many of the squadrons engineering projects over recent years.
