‘Facing the future’

In the final week of Cadet Warrant Officer Steven Croft’s cadet career, a new Corps corporate communications recruiting board has been released across the country featuring his award winning self-portrait.

Taken at 10,000 above the Irish Sea whilst flying in a 208 Squadron Hawk aircraft from RAF Valley, the stunning picture of Cadet Warrant Officer Croft shows him during his Cadet Of The Year Flight and forms the centre piece of the recruiting stand.

The display boards, worth £1000 each, are to be used throughout the United Kingdom in attracting the next generation of young people into the Air Training Corps and no doubt will feature in many public displays for many years to come.

The picture was also used as the font cover of the 2005 Air Cadet Organisation annual report and is one of many pictures from the squadron used in recent years for promoting the Air Training Corps to a national audience.

Squadron Warrant Officer Taylor said ‘It is only right and fitting that whilst Cadet Warrant Officer Croft’s time in the Air Cadets comes to an end his image will be used to attract new recruits to the organisation that has allowed him to achieve so many things. I am proud that his contribution to the Corps will live on into the future well after he leaves us.’
