134 (Bedford) Squadron |
It’s official, the 2006 national Air Cadet Organisation calendar features no less than three photographs submitted by 134 (Bedford) Squadron.
It is a glowing endorsement for the Squadron that this year won the Wing and Regional public relation competitions and is seen as leading the field in Corps public relations.
The February page of the calendar titled ‘reaching for the sky’, features Cadet Rebecca Ward wearing a flying helmet while taking part in an air experience flight in an Army Air Corps Gazelle helicopter. Cadet Warrant Officer Steven Croft took this photograph.
Former Cadets Lucy Anderson and Nicola Bezuidenhout can be seen sitting in an Apache attack helicopter on the May page under the title ‘taking it all on board’. Adult Warrant Officer Oliver Browne took this photograph.
Cadet Daniel McClusky can be seen making a splash on the November page in an action shot of him running through a river during a Squadron adventure training exercise. This dramatic picture is titled ‘fostering the spirit of adventure and was taken by Mr Darren Harbar a member of the Squadron’s Civilian Committee.
Mr Chris Wiggins the Squadron’s Corporate Communications Officer said, “To achieve this level of recognition is fantastic and what is even more impressive is that the photographs used were taken by different individuals within our unit. We are justifiably proud in the knowledge that we have been able to make such a significant contribution to this important publication.”
This is not the first time that photographs of Squadron activities have featured in national Air Cadet Organisation publicity material. The Air Cadet Annual Report for 2005 contained no less than three official Squadron photographs including the impressive flying helmet shot on the front cover taken by Cadet Warrant Officer Steven Croft.
