More adventure training is promised with the news that Adult Warrant Officer Taylor has achieved his Basic Expedition Leader Award (BELA). Having worked hard over the last year Warrant Officer Taylor gave up six weekends to attend various training activities, which included, map reading, expedition leadership, food hygiene and exercise planning.
Now that he is qualified the Squadron can increase the number of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and camping activities that it undertakes throughout the year.
Warrant Officer Taylor adds this qualification to an already impressive list of qualifications, which include, Drill Instructor, Weapons Instructor, Range Officer and First Aider.
Warrant Officer Taylor said, “It took a lot of effort to achieve this qualification but now that I have it we can expand the activities that we offer our Cadets. I’m looking forward to the New Year, getting out to pastures new and delivering more results through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Scheme.”
