Display Success

134 (Bedford) Squadron has taken delivery of a specially commissioned trophy cabinet, which has taken pride of place in the main hall of its Squadron Headquarters.

The cabinet was design and built by a local craftsman out of solid oak and affords perfect views of the trophies from three sides through toughened safety glass. The new cabinet replaces the ageing and somewhat tired looking second hand example that had been in use for many years.

With over double the display area of it’s predecessor there is now room to display all 12 of the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing trophies that are currently held by 134 (Bedford) Sqn, including the prestigious Wing Field Day Trophy which proved too large to be displayed in the old cabinet. In addition the cabinet displays the Squadrons own trophies that are awarded in house annually as well as awards presented to the unit from outside organisations such the Youth Enterprise in Aviation shield presented by the DeHaviland Moth Club.

Squadron Warrant Officer Taylor said, “The Cadets have worked so hard this year and won so many trophies that we simply had no option but to get a bigger and better cabinet. Its really good that we are now able to professionally display the awards to the Cadets and visitors to our Squadron.”
