Certified the Best

It’s not easy winning the best maintained premises award two years in a row when your headquarters building is subject to care and maintenance and is due in the near future to be demolished and replaced.

However, through sheer hard work and determination to achieve the highest standards, 134 Bedford Squadron have again received for the second year in a row the prestigious best maintained premises award in East Anglia.

On Monday 25th April 2005, Lt Col Jackie Allen, Deputy Secretary Reserve and Cadet Forces Association East Anglia Branch, visited the Squadron to see for herself what makes Bedford such a good unit.

The evening commenced with a formal parade during which Lt Col Allen took the salute and formally inspected the Squadron Cadets.  Formality dispensed with, Lt Col Allen was guided around the Squadron and saw displays covering bridge building, weapons training, aircraft recognition and corporate communications.

The evening closed with Lt Col Allen presenting a certificate to the Squadron and remarking on not only the Squadrons physical appearance but also the enthusiasm and determination with which all members of the Squadron conduct their duties.

The Squadron Warrant Officers have their sights firmly set on scooping the award for the third year in a row so watch this space.
