During a hand over parade held on Thursday 3rd March 2005, Flt Lt Whittaker inspected his new cadets before formally accepting his post as Commanding Officer from Sqn Ldr Testro RAF VR(T), Wing Staff Officer Western Sector of Beds & Cambs Wing. After the parade the new boss spent some time answering questions from the cadets explaining his background, including seven years service in the Royal Air Force as well as his work in his previous post as a supernumery officer at 73 (Huntingdon)
Sqn.
Flt Lt Whittaker demonstrated his enthusiasm for his new role by taking part in the squadron shooting day at DISC Chicksands on Saturday 5th March where he used the time to see the cadets in action and meet and mingle with his new troops in a less formal environment. Flt Lt Whittaker has recently completed his Senior Officers Course at the Air Cadet, Adult Training Facility, RAF Cranwell, in fact he received the invitation for his new job mid way through the course. |
The appointment has been warmly welcomed by the existing staff at 134 (Bedford) Squadron who are all keen to support the new Commanding Officer and continue to drive the squadron to achieve ever higher results.
