Cadets Help FAB Charity
Bedford Air Cadets were pleased to present a cheque for £1000 to Family Activities Breaks (FAB) - a charity which provides fun and challenging camps to the families of bereaved service personnel.
The cadets had raised the money by bag packing and car washing for FAB, which was the nominated Squadron charity for 2014.
Before the presentation, Jodi Wendehh from FAB briefly talked to the cadets to outline what the charity does and how the money will be used to benefit children of those who have served with the British armed forces. It was noted that some of these children are the same age as the cadets themselves.
The cheque was presented by Cpl Niamh Lennox. Afterwards Niamh gave a guided tour of the building to Jodi, who was very impressed with the Squadron and its facilities.
Flight Sergeant James Tye said, “We choose a different charity to support each year. FAB stood out to us due to the help and support they provide to bereaved military families each year. We are pleased to do what we can to help them.”
The Squadron’s nominated charity for 2015 is The East Anglia Air Ambulance.
