Come Dine With Us
"The Queen!" toasted the Cadets and Staff of 134 (Bedford) Squadron, during their annual Dining In night held recently at the Shakespeare Hotel in Bedford.
At the formal three course meal, former Flight Sergeant Sean Denham, who had recently left the squadron after many years as a cadet and NCO was 'dined out'. Sean, who took the opportunity to make a speech, spoke of the strong friendships he had made during his cadet career. He then presented the Squadron with a new trophy, which will now be awarded annually to the cadet who is deemed to have best demonstrated leadership in the previous 12 months.
The night also marked the first dining in night for Squadron Commanding Officer, Flt Lt Paul Nelson. Paul said of the evening "It was a great event with fantastic food, Sean made a powerful and emotive speech. All the cadets thoroughly enjoyed the evening."
Following the meal, after dinner speeches and toasts. The cadets had the chance to dance the night away at a disco.
During his speech, Sean Denham said "There is no doubt that I owe much to the Squadron, for all the opportunities that it has given me, for the support that I have received, and for the enduring and long-lastings friendships that I have formed with many people."
