Cadet Appeal
Following the terrible events that have taken place in Haiti, Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron, in conjunction with the Tesco’s store in Riverside, Bedford, have joined forces to raise much needed funds for the disaster appeal.

The cadets were delighted to give up their time on Sunday 31st January 2010 to raise funds for this very important cause, as many of them had seen for themselves the terrible scenes broadcast from the Caribbean.
The 14 Cadets worked extremely hard throughout the day packing customers’ bags as they passed through the checkouts of the store. Once again there was a great deal of generosity shown by the public and many favourable comments were made about the charity work that the cadets were undertaking.

Cadet Daniel O’Neale, 14 years, said “Having seen the devastation it was really good to do my bit to help get some money to help the people of Haiti.”
In total the cadets efforts raised a massive £1,804.30 during the six hours that they were working in the store.
Flying Officer Paul Nelson, Officer Commanding 134 (Bedford) Squadron said, “The cadets worked extremely hard for a very worthy cause and they are a credit to the young people of this country.”
