Bedford Air Cadets have bolstered their funds by holding another of the unit’s hugely popular car washing events.

Working in two teams, 17 cadets from the Squadron raised £322 by washing 72 cars at their Bedford Headquarters on Saturday 23rd January 2010.

Through the continued support of Autoglym Limited, the team at Bedford Squadron have gained a very credible reputation within the local community for providing a high quality reasonably priced car washing service using the best products available.

Working in two teams, each supervised by a cadet NCO, the cadets operated two dedicated wash bays throughout the day and were kept busy with a constant stream of customers who needed their vehicles washing.

Visiting the car was for the first time was the Conservative Member of Parliament Mr Alistair Burt who dropped in to have his car washed and chat with the staff and cadets about the Squadron and its recent achievements.

Squadron Warrant Officer Paul Taylor said, “These funds will add to the money raised over Christmas and ensure that we can continue to run activities for our cadets throughout the year. One of greatest benefits from car washing is the networking opportunities you get from meeting many different types of people and it was good to talk to the local MP who maintains a keen interest in our unit.
