The Standard Bearer should be one vigorous and brave young officer; who willingly would sacrifice his life to defend the Banner.The Standard Bearer should never surrender his Banner, if he, during a battle, could no longer safeguard the Banner; he should wrap his body into the Banner awaiting the final slash.... Of course the roles and responsibilities of a Banner Bearer in the Cadet Forces are somewhat different to those of military units in the past. However, the responsibility to safeguard and correctly parade a units banner remains as important as ever.

On Sunday 9th May 2010, nineteen Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron competed in the annual Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Athletics Competition, held this year at the Cambridge University sports ground. Twenty eight squadrons, from across the Wing attended which meant that every event was going to be hotly contested. Last year the team achieved an extremely respectable haul of 7 Gold and 5 Silver medals as well as the Junior Boys Cup.
