Pride of Bedford

Cadet Flight Sergeant Sean Denham, 16 yrs, is celebrating having been awarded the Pride in Bedford Young Achiever Award aimed at those who are working to make Bedford a special place to live and work in.

Beyond The Corps

Back in January 2008, Corporal Adam Smith left the Squadron to enroll as a Junior Soldier in the Army Foundation Collage, Harrogate, he has recently come back from training to pass on some of his newly learned skills to the cadets. He is adamant that his time on the squadron has helped him with his chosen career. Adam takes up the story....

Every cloud has a silver lining

On Saturday 8th March 2008 Cadet Scott Pickering 16yrs started his Gliding Scholarship at RAF Henlow with 616 Volunteer Gliding Squadron. He was to attend every Saturday and Sunday for the next eight weeks.

Golden Haul

Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron are celebrating having gained 6 Gold and 3 Silver medals in the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Athletics Competition.

Parliamentary Presence

Alistair Burt the Member of Parliament for North East Bedfordshire visited 134 (Bedford) Squadron Air Cadets and spent an informative evening learning about the role of the Squadron within his constituency.

Flight Fantastic

Four Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron were given the opportunity to take to the skies in the Vigilant T Mk1 motorised glider during a recent visit to 616 Volunteer Gliding Squadron based at Royal Air Force Henlow, Bedfordshire.

Job Done

Seven years ago, as soon as she was old enough to join, 13 year old Esther Russell started her cadet career with 134 (Bedford) Squadron, Air Cadets. Since joining in April 2001, Esther has developed with the squadron, working hard to gain both the highest academic classification of Staff Cadet and the most senior cadet rank of Cadet Warrant Officer.

Great Balls of Fire

With most of 134 (Bedford) Squadron away on Easter Camp, it was still business as usual at the Squadron Headquarters where the remaining cadets were tasked with building golf ball firing machines.

Shedding Their Image

They once housed the Airships of the Imperial Airship Service, the R101 and R100. Now the massive airship sheds at Cardington, Bedfordshire, have been used to lift the profile of the local Air Cadet Squadron.

We've Cracked It!

It certainly was a ‘Good Friday’ for Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron when they packed bags for shoppers at their local supermarket over the Easter holiday.

Russell's Royal Round Robin

On Wednesday 5th March 2008 Cadet Warrant Officer Esther Russell flew in a BAE 146 with 32 (The Royal) Squadron, on a round-robin trip of the UK. 

Aerobatic Adventures

Barrel roles, stall turns and loops were the order of the day for 8 Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron when they took the controls of Grob Tutor T1 aircraft at Royal Air Force Wyton, Cambridgeshire.
