On the rare occasions that Air Cadets get the chance to fly in operational Royal Air Force Aircraft, it is normally part of a pre planned training sortie. It is therefore highly unusual for a cadet to be given the opportunity to experience an operational flight in a helicopter. But for one lucky cadet from 134 (Bedford) Squadron, this was the order of the day when he was fortunate enough to fly with 32 (The Royal) Squadron in an Augusta 109 helicopter.

Three Air Cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron Air Training Corps, took to the skies for their very first flights, on a very chilly 14 January 2012. The venue was RAF Henlow in Bedfordshire with 616 Volunteer Glider Squadron where they experienced the joys of flying the Grob Vigilant powered glider.
